What we're doing

Dear students and parents,

I'd like to let you know the grades as of 2.11.16

So as you can see with the grades, 2nd period has the highest average grade percentage with 94% which is an A. 6th period has the lowest average with 77% which is a C.

4th period has the most A's with 34. 6th period has the least with 18. 6th period has the most F's with 16. 2nd period has the least with 2.

So if your child is failing, they still have lots of chances to pass. One thing I'd recommend is them going to Academic Dinner on Thursday or Friday Academy on Friday.

We are beginning Unit 11 on Tuesday and just to let you know this is the most important unit of the school year and the halfway point of the course. After the PPT, we're watching the movie “Silverlinings Playbook”, an extremely powerful movie about depression. They are expected to take notes and watch the movie. I only have a slight idea when we're gonna finish the PPT. I'm predicting we're gonna finish it on Saturday February 27th.

That's pretty much all I have to say!

Thanks!

What's going on?

Hello everyone!

I wanted to let you know everything that is going on in behavior!

Currently we are doing Unit 10 Stress. We are a little behind of what we would like to be, but that's okay. There's no rush.

The unit 10 pre-tests have NOT been graded yet, but I should have them graded today. We are planning to finish Unit 10 on Wednesday. Some classes may finish sooner than others. My 6th period is usually the slowest to finish because of all the interruptions that keep on happening with that class.

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, I will be having Mr. McGavran (a substitute teacher) come in to my classes. On Tuesday, I have a teacher training. (No, not my usual every other Tuesday behavior teacher's conference where I'm only gone 1st 2nd and 3rd period. This is the whole day.) On Wednesday, I have a dentists appointment... oh joy... . On Thursday, ALL the 5th grade teachers have a meeting. So we are going to remain on campus. I may come in and teach after 4th period.

On Thursday we are taking the Unit 10 Test, on Friday we are taking the Unit 11 Pre-Test, and on Saturday we're beginning Unit 11 Sadness/Depression, the most important unit of the year! So make sure your child pays attention this unit!

Thanks!

Hello students and parents! As you may know, this week is tough because one year ago on Saturday, the MP Shooting happened and shook up the entire community. There was lots of sadness, fear, anger, and a mix of other emotions. Those emotions I have noticed have returned this week because of the anniversary coming up. On that day, there is an assembly planned with inspirational poet Shane Koyczan and students and staff from MPHS. Mr. McClellan and Mr. Withee are going to be talking about their experience, why McClellan started "Peaks for Pilchuck" and Withee's overall experience of the day. We will also have Shane talking about pain, sorrow, and depression. We will also have a sing along of the song "Lean On Me". October 24th is going to be a tough day for everyone, especially those affected by the tragedy. #MPStrong #MarysvilleStrong #WeAreMarysville #MPStrongWeek #MPStronger

Now about the things we are doing in class. Yesterday, we did the "Can You Think Under Pressure" test in Behavior. They took the test while I made various distractions and going to count the average amount of people distracted by the distractions and learning a moral.

In Science we started taking some notes about climates... Well kinda, because of the lovely technical difficulties that happened.

Anyways, thank you for taking your time to read this! I appreciate it!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! ♥♥♥♥

I hope the 2015-2016 year will be FAR better than the 2014-2015 year and its drama. Last year had lots of sad events including the MP shooting, the CES gym problem, the traffic situation, and the lots of drama between teachers and staff members at CES.

The drama shall not happen anymore because this year, we have a new principal! He is changing the whole discipline rule like if the class is being bad the teacher gets in trouble thing is getting removed! Also the cell phone complaints should die down a lot because now you can use cell phones during dinner! Although the rules remain the same in classes so far. But it's an improvement!

Last years classes were absolutely terrible when it came to the behavior! Let's hope that is not the case this year (even though I ALWAYS have at least one bad class). My 2ND, 4th, 5TH, and 6th period were bad. The ones with the caps lock were the worst ever! That hopefully won't happen this year!

Here is the supply list:

Behavior:

REQUIRED

1 Comp Book

Package of Pencils (#2 or 2.5 Preferred)

1 Pair of Headphones

1 Correcting pen (Blue or Red Preferred)

Packet of Colored Pencils

Recommended

1 Laptop (Because the computers provided are extremely slow!)

Things To Know

Dear Students, and Parents,

There is a lot of drama going on between the 5th grade teachers and the office staff currently.

Some of the drama is if our classes behave bad, we teachers get in trouble, and we strongly disagree with the punishment on our part. Our principal Dr. Gerrish is saying that both Mrs. Dimcimber and I "are not doing a very good job teaching" and students strongly disagree with her statement. She also said to us that we do not have enough educational posters in either one of our rooms. Dr. Gerrish said this to Dimcimber "You are doing a very bad job with teaching, along with the other 5th grade teachers, so you better start doing better or we'll start giving punishments to you. Quit being an idiot and teach." She said to me "You are one of the worst teachers I've ever seen, there's something horribly wrong with the way you're handling things. I'm done with your BS Ricky. Start doing better or you're gonna get a punishment. And don't you even think about talking back to me."

So I'm not happy with Gerrish at the moment. I think I do a pretty good job teaching, considering that most of my students have A's.

Also I'm currently fighting with Mr. Blake about the correct way to teach children. He teaches the exact same way the rest of us do.

As far as I can tell, City Elementary has turned into a load of crap the past year. Students say I do an amazing job at what I do. I'm tired of all the rediculousness that is going around here, making this school complete hell for students and parents.

So thank you for reading this, I'll keep you updated with all the drama. Ugh...
